In November Colin flew down to London to attend the CSO Conference for senior cyber security leaders. He then joined the awards dinner in the evening and received the CSO30 award for 2024. This annual award is voted on by peers in the industry and recognises 30 senior cyber security leaders who have represented so many of the qualities required to inspire and drive real change in today’s cyber security landscape.
He was then asked back on the stage to receive a special Industry Recognition award for his proactive work in promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within cyber security. This referenced his longstanding support of programs like the Cyber Security Challenge and, more recently his support of the NCSC CyberFirst program with the creation of the Women in Cyber summer intern program during his time at Rolls-Royce, and the subsequent Women in Cyber Conference. His support of neurodivergent individuals within the industry was also highlighted.
